To help you manage your diabetes, it is important that your doctor follows the recommended treatment guidelines for your condition. Listed below are the recommended tests and procedures to treat diabetes. Doctors who administer these tests and perform these procedures are better at providing high-quality diabetes care. Special Note: While a doctor can order a test/procedure, it is important that you do your part and arrange to have the test/procedure performed.

These star ratings are based on not only whether a doctor ordered the test/procedure, but also whether the doctor's patients actually followed up and had the test/procedure performed. See, How We Measured Care. The following is based on patients 18-75 years of age with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
